UGES Families - Hope you can join us this week for the spring choir and band concerts! The 5th-8th grade choir concert is Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Grove High School Performance Center and the 5th-8th band concert is Thursday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Union Grove Elementary School Large Gym. It's going to be two fantastic performances you don't want to miss!

"Activity Night" takes place tonight from 4:30-6:30 p.m. (For UGES Students: Grades 5-8) All students should enter through door # 21 in the back of the school by the 5-8 cafeteria. Parents/guardians/students please take note of the following activity night guidelines…Union Grove Elementary School student handbook rules apply, no students will be admitted to activity night without a completed permission slip already on file, students must be in school the day of activity night to be eligible to attend, students are expected to stay for the entire two hours, 4:30-6:30 p.m, food (pizza - $2.00, soda/water - $1.00, candy - $1.00) will be available for purchase. Students, get ready to have a rockin' good time with all of your friends tonight!!!

Happy Friday UGES! Kindergarten has kicked off the end of year Alphabet Countdown with "Animal Day." The animals helped them with their writing. Stayed tuned for more countdown fun over the next few weeks!





Hands-on learning in the classroom: Ms. Olson's 2nd grade class was having a little fun this morning experimenting with STEM bins.






The end of the year "Pony Pride Ticket Challenge - Pie, Popsicles and Play" is taking place right now. Students are earning tickets that they can place in one of the seven buckets by the main office. The 3 teachers/staff who have the most tickets by next Thursday will get a "Pie in the Face" at an all school assembly on Friday, May 3rd. Which 3 teachers/staff are in the running? It's Mr. Hansen, Ms. Weber, Ms. Santarelli, Ms. Gabinski, Mr. Bingenheimer, Ms. Wehrenberg, Ms. Cooper, and Ms. Carpenter. After the assembly, all grades will head outside to enjoy popsicles and some outdoor time. What an awesome way to recognize all the great students and positive behavior happening at UGES!!



UGES - WE DID IT! Just in the nick of time! Student council members, Sean B., Tyler J. and Jaxson B. showed up to the main office this afternoon to find the 10th bin filled with food. It's official!!! Mr. Hansen will be working from the roof of the school for an entire day (details to be announced at a later date). It's going to be fun! Student council would like to thank everyone who donated food items! All food will be donated to the Union Grove Food Bank.


Food Drive & Aluminum Can Drive Update: We've filled 8 bins of food so far! Only 2 bins to go! The food drive ends tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Let's get Mr. Hansen on the roof of the school! We've got this UGES! Food bins are located by the main office entryway. The Green Committee Aluminum Can Drive also ends tomorrow. Please place bags of cans in the UGES truck that is located in the front parking lot.

Only 4 days left to bring in food for the Student Council Food Drive! Currently, we have 5.5 barrels of food. We need to fill 4.5 barrels of food by this Friday, April 26th! If we do, Mr. Hansen will be working from the roof of UGES for an entire day! Let's do this UGES! Non-perishable food items can be dropped off in the bins by the main office entryway.

5th grade students created Earth Day projects this week using materials that would normally take up space in our landfills. Great job 5th grade - Way to be super creative!





Congratulations to our Read-a-thon "Star Readers" who read 300 minutes or more during the recent Read-a-thon. Wow! That's a lot of reading. Each student will be invited to a warm pretzel party this Friday, April 26 to celebrate their outstanding accomplishment. O., Bailey H., and Madison B. 4th Grade - Gheller W. and Brendan M., 5th Grade - Mason T., 7th Grade - Jackson F.

Yesterday 7th grade collected items around the school grounds. Today they used those items to make some pretty neat bird houses. Way to use your resources 7th grade!




2024 UGES Summer School Registration Ends In ONE Week! Online registration is open NOW through May 1st. There is NO FEE for summer school. It is open to all UGES students who will be entering kindergarten-7th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. It will take place June 4th-June 27th from 7:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday (NO Friday classes).
