5th grade had a picture perfect day for their incentive trip to Old Settler's Park today!
A special thank you to the 8th grade students who were on the winning teams last year for helping out with this year's "7th Grade Bocce Ball Tournament."

Mrs. Marshall's 7th grade science classes wrapped up a unit on Forces in Motion by enjoying a fun day participating in the "Sir Isaac Newton Annual Bocce Ball Tournament." Looks like they had a blast!










Tomorrow is National SLP Day, however, UGES is celebrating National Speech-Language Pathologist Day today. Let's take some time to give a "shout-out" to our amazing SLP team at Union Grove Elementary School!

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, 7th grade students are learning about how technology and social media impact their mental health. Today in STEM class, they discussed different aspects of technology and how freely they should be used based on the risks they pose. Students also had a chance to analyze their own phone usage today. If you have a 7th grader, ask them to see their phone use analysis worksheet!






What an amazing night it was at the conference track meet! Boys were crowned conference champions and the girls placed 2nd in the entire conference! Congratulations on a remarkable season!

UGES Track Team in action at the conference track meet!




Good luck to the UGES Track Team at the Conference Track Meet at Westosha Central High School tomorrow (May 14). The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. GO PONIES!
As we continue our "Countdown to Kindergarten" we were excited to celebrate the letter L by having "Lights Out Day." Students in Room 102 (Ms. Klenke's class) designed and built impressive forts that they were happy to occupy for the day!
Congratulations UGES Track Team! Last night the boys and girls track teams both placed FIRST at the East Divisional Track Meet at Westosha Central High School! Way to go PONIES! Next week, Tuesday, May 14, they will be participating in the Conference Track Meet at Westosha Central High School beginning at 3:30 p.m. Come cheer them on to another victory!
2nd graders in Mrs. Callewaert’s room earned enough AR (Accelerated Reader) points for the trimester to attend the Bingo party! Congratulations!

7th Grade students from Mrs. Wehrenberg's Social Studies classes offered up their time today to help 4th grade friends in Mrs. Tennhagen's class create mini golf courses and to "flashlight read" with friends in Mrs. Cooper's class.










A HUGE "Thank You" to PTO for a fantastic catered lunch and raffle today as part of staff appreciation week. Thank you to all of the parents, guardians and friends of UGES who covered recess duty for the teachers to give them a much needed break! It was an amazing day!





PTO made their way around UGES today to deliver treats to all of the staff to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week! Thank you PTO for making it another great day!
Kindergarten had to dodge a little rain this morning on the 8th grade outdoor exploration trail, but that didn't stop them from having FUN!




Good luck to the "UGES Track Team" this evening at they travel to Westosha Central High School to participate in the West Divisional Track Meet beginning at 3:30 p.m.
It's "Outdoor Exploration Trail Week" with 8th grade. They are presenting environmental educational lessons to students in kindergarten through 5th grades that focus on the value of biodiversity and conservation. Check out these pictures of 5th grade having a great time on the trail today!
