
One Final Curtain Call! A very special thank you to the spectacular 2024 Aladdin Jr. Directing team of M.J. Cooper (Director), Jen Bauer (Music Director), and Melissa Nehm (Assistant Director) who unselfishly devoted countless hours to help prepare the cast and crew for a performance that they will all remember for a very long time.

5th-8th Grade Activity Night Reminder for Parents & Guardians: All activity night permission forms are due to the main office tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23, by 3:30 p.m. if your student(s) plans to participate. Extra activity night permission slips are available in the main office. Activity night takes place this Friday, April 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Today our student council and Leadership Union Grove Class partnered on the Indian Trail Park clean up! Great job student council!

4th grade students planted vegetables to grow in greenhouses donated by student council in honor of Earth day. Students also decorated with chalk drawings!









Earth Day Activities at UGES - Here's a look at 7th grade gathering items to design an eco-friendly bird house. Meanwhile, 8th graders went outside to help clean up their outdoor exploration trail. Students in Ms. Ninneman's kindergarten class show off their 2024 Earth Day t-shirts.




The UGES Student Art Show on Saturday, April 20 was a huge success! Thank you to all of the talented student artists and Ms. Moore for putting together such an awesome show! Also, mark your calendar for the "Artist Reception" which will consist of a student artist meet and greet at the Graham Public Library (1215 Main Street, Union Grove) on Thursday, May 9th from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Those attending the reception will have the opportunity to meet the winners of the Union Grove Elementary School Student Art Show and see their artwork on display. UGES will be celebrating "Earth Week" starting tomorrow, Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26. We'll kick off the week on Monday by wearing this year's Earth Day T-shirt design and any other Earth Day T-shirts you may have the rest of the week. UGES Student Council Members will be participating in a "park clean up" day this week as well. The "Aluminum Can Drive" is also taking place. Please drop off bags of aluminum cans in the back of the UGES truck that will be parked in the front parking lot throughout the week. This morning, Frankie C., Aubri P., and Bentley B. from Ms. Storm-Voltz's 4K class stopped by the main office to drop off some food items for the Student Council Food Drive. Great Job UGES! So far we have filled 3 barrels of food (7 more to go). We are getting closer to Mr. Hansen working from the roof of the school. The food drive continues through next Friday, April 26th.


Good luck this weekend to the UGES Track Team (Friday, April 19 Track Meet at Union Grove High School, 4:00 p.m.), to the Aladdin Jr. Cast, Crew and Directing Team (3 SOLD OUT Performances - Friday, April 19 @ 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20 @ 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - All performances held in the Brenda Stevenson Gymnasium - Large Gym), and to the students showing their artwork in the UGES Student Art Show (Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the K-4 Cafeteria). We have an amazing group of students at UGES who will be displaying their talents all weekend long! Hope you can join us!

7th Grade STEM students learned about the history of chariots and chariot racing throughout the week. Students had fun engineering a chariot, and today we held our very own chariot races!

UGES Families - Here are a few updates: Activity night permission slips for 5th-8th grades are due to the main office by next Tuesday, April 23, 3:30 p.m. if your student (s) plans on participating in the Friday, April 26 activity night. Also, keep bringing in those food items. We need 8 more barrels of food by next Friday, April 26! If we make it, Mr. Hansen will work from the roof of the school. Earth Week starts next week. Get your Earth Day T-shirts ready and wear them all week long (even from past years). Finally, aluminum cans can be dropped off in the UGES parking lot next week, April 22-26. Please place them in the back of the UGES truck that will be parked there all week long.

It was a great day for 6th grade yesterday as they traveled to American Family Field to watch the Milwaukee Brewers game and participate in "Weather Day" at the ballpark. Right now, Mr. Hansen is sitting in his office thinking he won't have to spend an entire day on the roof of UGES. It's "Pony Pride Day" tomorrow! So many great things are happening around UGES. The UGES musical, Aladdin Jr., the start of the track season, the UGES Art Show, many field trips, great learning experiences in the classrooms and a phenomenal groups of students, teachers and staff who work at UGES!
