Boys Basketball (A & B Teams Only - 7th/8th Grade) Tryouts are Tonight and Monday, December 11 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Students are expected to be at tryouts both days. Mrs. Gerou's 4th grade class also participated in the Straw Boat STEM Challenge. Lots of great learning opportunities are happening for our students in the classrooms.
4th graders in Mrs. Orcutt’s science class participated in a straw boat challenge this week! Their boat had to hold 25 pennies without sinking!! It sure looks like they were having a great time learning.
6th-7th-8th Grade Cheer Signup for Boys Basketball Season is happening now! There is still time for students to sign up today and tomorrow. Sign up sheet is located outside the large gym on the bulletin boards by the locker rooms. Pre- Tryouts will take place on Friday, December 8 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Tryouts will be on Monday, December 11. Any student who plans to participate in Cheer MUST pick up a permission slip/information packet in the front office and return it signed at the pre-tryout practice on Friday, Dec. 8.
The UGES Winter Concert Season is Here! We are looking forward to having UGES Families join us tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th for the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade Holiday Concert. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon performance which begins at 1:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for the evening performance which begins at 6:30 p.m. (Please enter through the doors in the front of the school by the Main Office). Students who will be performing should wear their favorite holiday outfit. For the evening performance, students should stay seated with their parents in the gym and report to their individual classroom no earlier than 6:10 p.m. The students are very excited to perform their music for everyone. We are looking forward to having UGES Families join us for a day filled with holiday music!

A & B Boys Basketball Team Tryouts will be on Friday, December 8th & Monday, December 11th after school until 4:30pm. Students trying out are expected to be at tryouts both days. After teams are finalized, schedules and expectations will be given out. Any questions please talk to Mr. Penzel or Mr. Bingenheimer.
On Thursday, November 30th, 8th graders experienced "mock interviews" as part of their "career unit" in Civics class. Thank you to all of the community volunteers who assisted us this morning! We could not have offered this valuable experience to our students without your help!
UGES Families: Just a reminder that breakfast is provided daily to those students/families who are interested. We are now opening breakfast 5 minutes earlier. The new time is from 7:05-7:20 a.m. with the serving line closing promptly at 7:20 a.m. If your student would like to eat breakfast please have them here before 7:20 a.m. Breakfast is $2.25 per day for all students (30 cents for reduced students and no cost for qualified free students).
