The Teacher "Slime Fest" was a huge success. One by one, Mr. Cleven, Ms. Tenhagen, Ms. Passe (a last minute addition), Mr. Penzel and Mr. Sams had pink and green slime dumped all over them. UGES is proudly supporting "National Wear Red Day" to help raise awareness for cardiovascular disease. Ms. Passe's (Kindergarten), Ms. Bednarek's (5th), and Mr. Cleven' s (6th) grade classes "showing off" their red.

The Makerspace Room is now open for 5th-8th graders after school from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. Tomorrow, Friday, February 2 there will be a special open house after school from 3:00-4:00 p.m. for students to come check out all the fun things they can do. Hope to see you there!

The final results are in for the Pony Pride Ticket Challenge. Students were stopping by the main office yesterday by the bunches to drop their last minute tickets they earned into the buckets. Overall 2,716 tickets were turned in by students. That's a lot of great things happening around UGES over the past couple of weeks. Congratulations to Mr. Penzel, Ms. Tenhagen, Mr. Cleven and Mr. Sams. They will be the representatives at the Teacher "SlimeFest" tomorrow, February 2 at 2:10 p.m. in the large gym. Student Council has been working on a number of projects. The latest is putting together a greenhouse that they recently purchased for the school. Great job Student Council!

6th-8th Grade Valentines Dance Information: Friday, February 9 at Union Grove Elementary School (5-8 Cafeteria) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Cost is $3.00 - Permission slips for the dance are being sent home with your student today. Please return permission slip and money by 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, February 7th to your homeroom teacher or drop off in the basket in the main office. If needed, extra permission slips are available in the main office.
Pony Pride Thursday is tomorrow! It's also the last HOME boys basketball game of the regular season vs. the Bristol Renegades. B-Team game starts at 4:00 p.m. followed by the A-Team game. C-Team game starts at 4:00 p.m. Hope you can join us - come cheer the Ponies on to another victory!
The "Pony Pride Ticket Challenge" ends at 2:45 p.m. today. Final results of who will be SLIMED will be announced tomorrow. As of now, Mr. Penzel (Specials Teacher) has 764 tickets, Ms. Tenhagen (4th grade) has 482 and Mr. Cleven (6th grade) has 359. Ms. Passe (1st grade) still has a chance to get in on the fun (308 tickets).

"Pony Pride Ticket Challenge" update for Tuesday, January 30. Only TWO more days to go! Final results will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 1. Mr. Penzel (Specials Teacher) has added to his total with 720 tickets, Ms. Tenhagen (4th grade) has 459 and Mr. Cleven (6th grade) has 329. Friday, February 2 is the big day - The all-school "Teacher Slime Fest" assembly! Mr. Sams and three teachers will have a lot of green and pink slime to deal with. Great job to all of our students who have been doing great things and earning tickets over the past couple of weeks!

"Pony Pride Ticket Challenge" update for Monday, January 29. The three staff members who are in line to be SLIMED are Mr. Penzel (Specials Teacher) with 654 tickets, Ms. Tenhagen (4th grade) with 430 and Mr. Cleven (6th grade) with 305. The good news is that we've reached 2,000 tickets, so Mr. Sams will also be SLIMED this Friday.
