On Thursday, February 22nd, all of our 5th - 8th grade students will travel by bus from Union Grove Elementary to Union Grove High School in order to take part with other local schools in hearing a presentation from nationally acclaimed speaker, John O’Leary. This presentation is sponsored by the Go Frank Go Foundation of Union Grove. John is scheduled to speak with our students from 9:00 to 10:30. Please note that this will be a normal school day for all students with no change to our start/end times, pick up/drop, or our hot/cold lunch programs.
John's individual story is very inspirational! John was involved in a traumatic fire that burned 100% of his body when he was just 9 years old. John's presentation will touch on the significance of our daily attitudes, the power of gratitude, and the impact of serving others with courage. This is sure to be an excellent experience and learning opportunity for all of our 5th-8th grade students. There is also a community presentation that evening open to the public. For more information on his evening community presentation please review the attached document. If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to contact me. Have a great evening!
