We're looking forward to another fun night next Friday, January 19 (4:30-6:30 p.m.) for the 2nd activity night of the year! Just a reminder that permission forms are due to the main office by next Tuesday, January 16 @ 3:30 p.m. for any 5th-8th grade student who plans to participate. Extra permission slips can be picked up from the main office.

Come join us tomorrow, Thursday, January 11 for the boys basketball home game vs. Salem. B team game starts @ 4 p.m. followed by the A team game in the large gym. Union Grove Elementary school will be closed on Tuesday, January 9th due to inclement weather. All extra curricular activites are canceled as well. Please be safe and enjoy the snow!

Activity Night Information for 5th-8th Grades - We are gearing up for the second activity night of the year which is scheduled for Friday, January 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Parents/guardians, your student will be bringing home an activity night permission form this weekend. If your student plans to attend activity night, please sign the permission form and have them return it to their homeroom teacher or the main office by Tuesday, January 16, 3:30 p.m. The November activity night was a blast with over 225 students attending. We are looking forward to another well attended and fun-filled evening of activities in a couple of weeks.

8th grade students spent part of their science class practicing their nature journaling skills in our outdoor classroom. Ask your favorite 8th grader to share their journal entry and describe some of the benefits of nature journaling throughout the year.
Ms. Moore's 6th-8th grade students having fun during art club after school. This is a great opportunity for our grade school students to look forward to during their middle school years.

UGES Families: Spring Musical, Aladdin Jr., reminder for students who are a part of the cast. ALL musical contracts are due by the end of the day this Friday, January 5 if your student is planning to accept their role for Aladdin Jr. Please remind them to turn their contract into the Aladdin contract/t-shirt orders drop box in the main office.
UGES Student Council has been working on several projects this year including food drives, door decorating contests, candy sales and spirit weeks. Just recently, student council purchased two large coffee pots for staff and students to use throughout the school for events, classroom gatherings (hot cocoa parties), and experiments. Thank you Ms. Tenhagen, Ms. Flintrop and all of the AWESOME UGES Student Council members for your hard work so far this year! We appreciate you!

LOST AND FOUND - UGES Families - There are plenty of lost and found items that have accumulated over the past couple of months. If your student is missing clothing, water bottles, or lunch bags, please have them check the lost and found items that are located on the tables in front of the nurses office by 3:00 p.m. this Friday, January 5!
