"Pony Pride Ticket Challenge" update for Friday, January 19. The top three staff who are in the running to get "slimed" has changed a bit since yesterday. Our students have been placing a lot of tickets in the buckets, so here are the current standings: Still leading the way is Mr. Penzel (Specials Teacher) with 212 votes, Ms. Tenhagen (4th grade) took over second place with 123 votes, and Mr. Cleven (6th grade) is right behind with 120. Let's not count out Ms. Passe (1st grade) with 112 votes.
Good luck to Mrs. Marshall, Mr. Topercer and all of the members of the UGES Extreme Science Team as they depart for their trip to Monterey, California on Sunday. Look for photos and updates on the UGES Website/Facebook during the week of January 28 through February 2 to see what they are up to.

UGES Activity Night Update...The 2nd activity night of the year is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, January 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. (For UGES Students: Grades 5-8) All students should enter through door # 21 in the back of the school by the 5-8 cafeteria. Parents/guardians/students please take note of the following activity night guidelines…Union Grove Elementary School Student Handbook Rules apply, no students will be admitted to activity night without a completed permission slip already on file, students must be in school the day of activity night to be eligible to attend, students are expected to stay for the entire two hours, 4:30-6:30 p.m, food (pizza - $2.00, soda/water - $1.00, candy - $1.00) will be available for purchase. Students, get ready for a rockin' good time!!!

The Pony Pride Ticket Challenge is in full swing. UGES students are doing great things everyday to earn tickets that they can place in the bucket of their choice. The challenge continues through January 31 with the all school assembly taking place on February 2 where three staff members with the highest ticket totals will be SLIMED. Who will it be? A special reminder for 8th grade parents/guardians: This Friday, January 19 is the last day to submit graduation gown orders. Please return the form and $20.00 payment to the main office. If your student does not need a gown, because they have one available to use, please indicate this on the order form. Graduation gown order forms can be obtained by visiting the Daily Express Link (under the 5-8th grade section) on the UGES website.
Good luck to our boys basketball and cheer teams this evening as they travel to Riverview to take on the Comets! B-Team game starts at 4 p.m. followed by the A-Team game. C-Team game starts at 4:00 p.m. The C-Team game for TONIGHT ONLY vs. Riverview has been changed to ONE game with longer minute quarters (10 instead of 6). This was requested by the home team. Tomorrow night, Wednesday, Jan. 17, the Ponies travel to Williams Bay. This game was rescheduled from January 9. B-Team game starts at 4 p.m. followed by the A-Team game. The activity night permission slip deadline for 5th-8th grades has been extended until tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. If your student plans to attend this Friday's activity night on January 19, please read and sign the permission form that was sent home last week and have your student return it to the main office by 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. Extra permission slips can be picked up from the main office.

However, they did inform us that though they were able to get the Pony Path clear of snow, there is a patch of ice that is covering it. Please be extremely cautious if you are using the Pony Path on your way to/from school.
