Welcome to Mr. Cleven's Site!
This will be my twelfth time teaching 6th grade Math and my ninth time teaching 6th grade Science. Along with Math and Science, I previously taught Language Arts for seven years, Social Studies for eighteen years, and 5th grade Social Studies for two years. Before teaching at Union Grove, I taught in Kenosha at McKinley Middle School. I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education degree from Carthage College. My Bachelor degree is a Major in Education and History, while my Master of Education is in Guidance-Counseling and Classroom Management. I have a wife, Jen, and four beautiful kids. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with our dogs, riding my motorcycle, working out, and watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers! I am looking forward to a fun school year!

Sixth Grade Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide a meaningful education that addresses students' unique learning styles and cultivates independent thought through a safe, supportive, and challenging environment.
Sixth Grade Homework Policy:
Late assignments will not be accepted. All assigned work is to be completed and turned in on the due date. Assignments will be graded "as is", which means whatever is incomplete will be marked wrong.
(Work missed due to illness will follow the student handbook.)
Sixth Grade Expectations:

Students are expected to complete all homework on time.

Carry and use their assignment notebook.

Be in their assigned seat/area ready to work at the beginning of class.

Bring papers, pencils, and all needed supplies to class.

Keep hands, feet, books, and other objects to themselves.

Absolutely no bullying, teasing, or "put downs" of any kind will be tolerated.
